The OVR is an agency of the Alaska Legislature that provides free legal services to victims of crime to help them obtain the rights they are guaranteed under Alaska’s constitution and statutes with regard to their contacts with police, prosecutors, judges, and other criminal justice agencies in this state.  The OVR also advances and protects those victims’ rights in court when necessary and authorized by law.

CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) are community volunteers trained by the State of Alaska, Office of Public Advocacy (OPA) to speak up for abused and neglected children in court appointed cases. Contact information: alaskacasa.org

Court Appointed Special Advocate (www.alaskacasa.org)  is a trained community member who is assigned to represent the best interests of children who are involved in the court system due to abuse or neglect. The CASA provides the judge with carefully researched information about the child's background along with current first-hand observations about the child's needs.  This information helps the court to make a sound decision about the child's future.

provide you with publications and they do have someone to talk to you. However, they are not a counselor!.

The Survivors' Voice  has changed their name to Child Abuse Legislation Study Project. They have suggestions on how to fight Child Abuse.

Web site with information for victims who are interested in civil suits. Includes a page on the Alaska Statute of Limitations.
