Pediatricians Information on Child Abuse ~ This site is both informative for the lay person and the professional. 

Medline Plus® - Child Abuse ~ This site is run by the National Library of Medicine which has many articles on child abuse.

National Center for PTSD - Information Center  ~ This is the largest site I have found on Post Tramatic Stress Disorder.  It is a good place for families, individuals and professionals working with PTSD.  The Information Center provides facts on topics such as Gerenal Facts, Treatment, PTSD in Children and Adolescents, Child Sexual Abuse, Children, Family, PTSD, Problems with Alcohol, Complex PTSD and more.

American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry - Facts For Families ~  This site provides all kinds of articles to help folks deal with children.  I think of it as a child prevention website because it helps parents deal with all sorts of situations.  This site has the information in English, Spanish, French, Dutch, Polish, Malaysian, Icelandic and Arabic.  Some of the articles speaking directly to child abuse are : Child Abuse - The Hidden Bruises, Responding To Child Sexual AbuseChild Sexual Abuse, Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

WiredSafety (Site formerly known as CyberAngels) ~ This site is an all volunteer Internet safety organization founded in June of 1995.   This site has been greatly expanded over the years.  Here is just some of the information you can get there:  Parents Guide to Internet Safety, how to protect kids from sexual predators on line, on-line safety aimed at Educators and Librarians and resources for Law Enforcement.  The list goes on and on of what you can find here!

Alaska Native Health Board ~  This site has a lot of information.  To find information on Child Abuse and Neglect click on the link on the main page.  This page is done by region as well and you can reach the appropriate region for a person who is looking for help.

Alaska Violent Crimes Compenstion Board ~  The VCCB can provide money for counseling for child abuse victims and their families, transportation to safety, medical costs, lost wages, and other needed services for eligible victims and their families.  (The Board does not pay for loss or damage to personal property or pain and suffering)

Alaska AlAnon/AlaTeen ~ Locate meetings around the state.

Mothers Against Drunk Driving

CASA ~ (Court Appointed Special Advocates) are community volunteers trained by the State of Alaska, Office of Public Advocacy (OPA) to speak up for abused and neglected children in court appointed cases.  Contact information:  alaskacasa.org

MINCAVA ~ Minnesota Center Against Violence and Abuse: Electronic Clearinghouse, Child Abuse page. Links to numerous child abuse prevention/information pages for both the layperson and the professional.

Children's Defense Fund ~ This site has a wealth of information.  Looking for facts dealing with child abuse go to Child Welfare and Mental Health under Meeting Children's Needs on the front page.

KEMPE CHILDREN'S CENTER for the Prevention and Treatment of Child Abuse and Neglect ~ This site is aimed at professionals in the field of child abuse.

Child Trama Academy ~ This site is aimed primarily at professionals but everyone can learn something from it. 

Prevent Child Abuse America  ~  Provides educational information on their site and gives you a place to speak out about child abuse.  They also keep track of national legislation on child abuse.

Mint Green Ribbon Campaign

STOP IT NOW  – ...........1-888-773-8368  (9-6 Eastern Time) ~ They deal with child sexual abuse. They can provide you with publications and they do have someone to talk to you. However, they are not a counselor!
